Welcome to Free World U
Thank you for your interest in becoming a flashcard or test author or editor. Please read this entire page before proceeding. The first thing to do is to register on the site by clicking here. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within one hour, request that a second one be sent to you. Look at the upper right of the page. If you see the word "login", click on it and you will be taken to a page where you can request that another activation e-mail be sent to you. You will find that in the lower right. If you see the word "logout", then you are already registered and no further action is necessary. You should spend some time viewing some of our flashcards to get a sense of how the system works. We suggest you start with a sixth grade geometry lesson as a good demonstration of our technology.
The next step is to download and print our summary on flashcard writing by clicking here. Download our summary on test question writing by clicking here. Pay particular attention to flashcard format including the use of elliptical sentences, style, and punctuation rules. You will need to follow these guidelines when submitting your first set of 10 flashcards or test questions. More detailed information about writing flashcards can be gained by using the flashcard system itself by clicking here. The portions of the site talked about in the training flashcards on the bulk editor and containers will not be available to you at this stage in the process.
When you feel confident that you understand the material, and are certain that you want to pursue flashcard or test question writing, check the subject list for a subject that is not taken. Send us an e-mail with the subject you have chosen. In the body of your e-mail, write 10 flashcards or test questions on your subject of choice, as a measure of aptitude. Your sample need not contain graphics but they should follow the formats described in the flashcard writing summary.
We will give you feedback on your submission. We will continue to have a dialogue until it is clear that you understand the process. At this stage please ignore the section on the software that will ultimately be used to write the flashcards or test questions. That will come later after it is clear that you understand the writing process. When your sample cards or test questions are approved, you will be given author privileges on the site which will allow you access to the part of the training program on containers and the bulk editor. If for any reason at this point you do not have author privileges, please request them. You will write your flashcards in an online program or software that we will provide.
Please do not use the feedback links to ask questions. We cannot send a personalized response using the system. Send your questions to office@freeworldu.org.
