Thank you for your interest in working for Free World U. Below are the pay rates for our most common tasks.
Flashcard Writers
Flashcard writers are paid per flashcard written at the time flashcards are published to our website. Pay rate is dependent
upon the type of graphic uploaded to the flashcard. The payment schedule is as listed below.
Flashcard with simple graphic: (IMG1) - $2.00
(A flashcard that has one or two images downloaded from the Web and cropped and resized if necessary.)
Flashcard with complex graphic: (IMG2) - $2.50
(An IMG2 is a graphic created in SmartDraw or an image editing software. Math graphics that
involve solving and graphing equations and science graphics involving labeling or otherwise
manipulating graphics are usually IMG2 graphics. This would include graphics from clipart.com,
Wikimedia, etc. that you must alter in some way to use. For example, adding text, combining two
graphics, cropping inappropriate or unnecessary parts, etc.)
Flashcard with original graphic: (IMG3) - $4.00
(IMG3 graphics are reserved for original, complex graphics created by the author. Original
photographs captured using sophisticated camera technology and original drawings created by
the author and digitized for our use provide examples of this rarely-used code. You must
obtain permission from your primary editor before you created graphics of this type.)
Image Specialists
Graphic artists and others experienced with graphic editing software are sometimes needed to
add new graphics or make changes to existing graphics. The payment schedule is as listed below.
IMG1 - $1.35
(Simple graphic.)
IMG2 - $1.85
(Complex graphic.)
IMG3 - $3.35
(Original graphic.)
Exam Writers
Exam flashcards are paid per exam card, at the time the exam questions are published to the website.
Graphics are used on an as-needed basis. Graphics on exam cards are typically reserved for math and
some science exam questions.
Exam Flashcard (IMG0) - $2.50 (Majority of exam questions, except for math; no graphics included.)
Exam Flashcard (IMG1) - $2.75 (Simple graphic as defined above.)
Exam Flashcard (IMG2) - $3.00 (Complex graphic, including basic text added to stock clipart.)
Exam Flashcard (IMG3) - $4.00 (Original graphics that required significant time, such as 3D images
or custom graphs. This would still remain rare, used primarily with math exam questions,
and requires prior approval from your editor.)
