Flashcard
Authors
Each flashcard type has a standard rate
of pay. Upon task completion, generally
a subject, (with minimal errors) a bonus
of $.35 per flashcard is awarded.
Simple picture flashcard (IMG1) – image from the web (first use), or minor edit of complex image – $2.00, plus bonus.
Typical picture flashcard (IMG2) – first use - simple drawing created by author (first use) – $2.50, plus bonus.
Complex picture flashcard (IMG3) – good drawing created by author (first use) – $4.00, plus bonus.
Repeated picture flashcard (IMG0) – each card with a repeated use of an image, where appropriate – $.85, plus bonus.
Error or omission - deduct $2.00 per incidence. An omission is a failure to
conform to the standards set forth in the web site. An example would be the failure to supply correct
information. Bonus for completing a subject with few errors according to website
guidelines - $.35 per flashcard, as previously mentioned.
Technical Line Editors
Evaluates flashcards for form and teaching quality. We have an extensive
description of the proper flashcard formats on our web site. This person is
generally a professional teacher or writer with a strong
technical background and line editing ability. The editor gives feedback to the
authors about the quality of their writing and serves as their manager.
For every flashcard proofread -- $.20
For making or changing a comment, an additional -- $.35
For minor repairs, an additional -- $.10
For major repairs, an additional -- $.25
Image Specialists
Each flashcard image type has a different pay rate. Please note that the automatic invoice generator does not work for image specialists at the present time. When submitting an invoice, image specialists will have to perform a manual tally and submit their invoice in the body of an e-mail. Although an image is required on both sides of the flashcard, the payment is per flashcard.
Simple picture flashcard (IMG1) – image from the web (first use), or minor edit of previously used image – $1.35.
Typical picture flashcard (IMG2) – first use - simple drawing created by specialist or minor edit of a downloaded image or combination of multiple downloaded images – $1.85.
Complex picture flashcard (IMG3) – complex drawing created from scratch; rarely used (first use) – $3.35.
Repeated picture flashcard (IMG0) – repeated use of an image, where appropriate. This is a rarely used category because we do not like to see images repeated from flashcard to flashcard – $.20.
