With VSee open and running, click on
Menu
in your video window to access the following options:
Call
Place Call: presents a dialog box where you can type the name of the user you would like to call
Host Meeting: begin a multi-party meeting
End Meeting: will only display when hosting a meeting, click to stop hosting multi-party meeting
Share
Application: will present a list of open windows on your computer, click one to share it with other members of the meeting
Desktop: will attempt to share your entire computer screen with other party members, not just an individual window (in most cases you will only need to share applications)
Movie: choose a movie to share with other members of the meeting
PowerPoint: choose a PowerPoint presentation (.ppt file) to share with other members of the meeting
Group Chat: opens the group chat box, you may type messages here and all members of the meeting will see them
Microphone
Setting: set the volume levels of your microphone and click the “hear yourself” button to test how you sound to others
Select Device: choose which recording device to take microphone input (most computers only have ONE such device)
Camera
Frame Rate: choose your video frame rate, higher frame rates need faster computers and faster internet connections
Adaptive: will try to guess the best frame rate based on your processor power and speed of your internet connection
15 fps: set video frame rate to 15 frames per second, video is a little bit choppy, but best with slower internet connections
30 fps: set video frame rate to 30 frames per second, video is smoother, best with faster internet connections
Low bandwidth: set video to an extremely low framerate, only for use with very slow internet connections, such as dial up
Lossless: not implemented yet
Image size: sets how big your image is on screen, as with frame rate, bigger image sizes require faster computers and faster internet connections
High resolution: set video size to 640x480
Default: set video size to 320x240
Low resolution: set video size to 160x120
Setting: opens the cameras filter properties dialog box, change such things as brightness and contrast, will have different options for different cameras
Select Device: choose which camera to use for video input if more than one is installed
Start auxiliary Camera: only available if more than one webcam is installed, will open a second window displaying your other camera
Window
Video Size: different than Image size, this only stretches the display size of the window, the image is still transmitted at the same resolution, you may choose 100%, 200%, or Full Screen (press escape to exit full screen mode)
Always on top: click to make the video window stay on top of all other windows so you can always see the video, even when working in another application. A checkmark will appear next to this option when it is active, click it again to deactivate “always on top” mode
Record
Start: choose a location to save your file, begin recording a video file of this window with audio, text messages in the chat box will be saved to a text file with the same name as the video
Stop: stop recording
Exit
Exit VSee, the icon will remain active in the system tray
